Cookie Policy

This is an English translation of the Hungarian original, which prevails if the two differ.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
A cookie is a small piece of data that your browser stores at a website’s request and sends back to it with later requests. Local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage, Cache Storage) is similar: the browser keeps a site’s data on your device, but doesn’t send it to the server by itself.
Under section 155(4) of the Hungarian Act C of 2003 on electronic communications (Eht.), we may store data on your device only with your consent, unless the storage is strictly necessary to provide the service. We only use such strictly necessary storage. For the optional usage statistics — which have no cookie of their own — we ask for your consent separately.
2. What we use
The apps run on subdomains of cloud-apps.net (such as sudoku.cloud-apps.net), and each uses its own storage.
| Name | Where | What it’s for | How long | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__Host-ca_sid | cookie, cloud-apps.net (HttpOnly, Secure) | keeps you signed in | 60 days, renewed while you use it; if you switch off “Keep me signed in on this device” when you sign in, until you close the browser, 1 day at most | necessary |
__Host-ca_consent | cookie, cloud-apps.net | remembers your cookie choice | 6 months | necessary |
__Host-ca_oauth | cookie, cloud-apps.net, only during a Google sign-in | protects the sign-in against forgery | 10 minutes | necessary |
__Host-ca_gsignup | cookie, cloud-apps.net, only while a sign-up with Google waits for your name and your acceptance of the terms | ties that unfinished sign-up to this browser | 30 minutes | necessary |
lang | cookie, cloud-apps.net | the language you chose | 1 year | necessary (preference) |
dash.sort, dash.group | localStorage, cloud-apps.net | how you sort and group the catalogue | until you clear it | necessary (preference) |
dash.join | sessionStorage, cloud-apps.net | your invitation while you sign up | until you close the tab | necessary |
dash.verify, dash.google, dash.reset | sessionStorage, cloud-apps.net | the code of a link you got by e-mail, while you sign in to use it; it leaves the address bar at once | until it is used, at most until you close the tab | necessary |
dash.support | sessionStorage, cloud-apps.net | your pending Supporter claim: the transaction details PayPal sent back after a donation, until you sign in in this tab, so that your account gets the Supporter badge | until it reaches your account, at most until you close the tab | necessary |
update-check.reloaded | sessionStorage, cloud-apps.net and the apps | a one-time reload after an update | until you close the tab | necessary |
cloud-apps.* | localStorage, in each app | a random identifier of the device, the sign-in state, the offline licence (up to 30 days), changes not yet synced, and what you saved as a guest | until you clear the browser’s data; when you sign out, your account’s documents are removed from the device | necessary |
| game progress and settings | localStorage, in each app | your game progress and settings on this device | until you clear them | necessary |
| offline files | Cache Storage (service worker), in each app | the app’s own files, for offline use | until the next release or until you clear them | necessary |
| usage statistics | no cookie of its own; recorded by the server with your consent | which app you used on which day | 90 days, then only anonymous totals | optional |
3. Usage statistics (optional)
The statistics have no cookie of their own. If you consent and are signed in, the server records which app you used on which day (after 90 days, only anonymous daily totals remain) and counts how many times you opened each app. Without your consent, we record none of this. Consent is given per browser: if you withdraw it, we stop recording in that browser and, if you are signed in, also delete the statistics collected for your account so far. The details are in the Privacy Notice.
4. Third parties
We use no third-party cookies — and set no PayPal cookies either — and there is no advertising or tracking code on the website or in the apps. On the Support page, PayPal’s donate button is shown in a frame that loads content from PayPal’s servers (www.paypalobjects.com): the button’s script and image, only on that page. PayPal then receives your IP address and browser details, as with any web request (see section 2.12 of the Privacy Notice). PayPal may use its own cookies on its own pages and in its pop-up window, under its own cookie statement. In the e-mails about your account, our e-mail provider counts opens and clicks only anonymously, with a tracking pixel and redirected links (see section 2.6 of the Privacy Notice). If you choose “Continue with Google”, you go to Google’s page (accounts.google.com), where Google’s own cookies and privacy policy apply. Once the Cloudflare proxy is live, Cloudflare may also set its own strictly necessary security cookies on our domain (for example __cf_bm and cf_clearance).
5. How to choose, and how to delete them
- You can decide about the statistics, and change your mind, at any time under “Cookie settings”: in the footer of cloud-apps.net, in the account menu of any app, or on the account page. You decide separately in each browser.
- We remember your choice for 6 months; after that, we ask again.
- You can delete cookies and stored data in your browser’s settings at any time. You will then be signed out, changes on the device that haven’t synced yet and what you saved as a guest are lost, and the app downloads its offline files again next time.
- You can also block strictly necessary storage in your browser, but then signing in and offline use won’t work.
